My neighbor was cutting hay , lost the power steering, and the hydraulics to lift the mow co. Steering very hard just vibrates when trying to turn. Checked fluid in trans, at the full mark. Ran about 8 hrs today, just lost steering and hydraulics. Pump in front of engine has a leak ( dripping not spraying out) Is there a relief valve that could be sticking? Can we test the pressure at the rear hydraulic connections? What psi should we expect to see? No whine from pump. Is there anything we should check before we pull the pump out. It just happened quickly. This had the engine replaced last year. Steering box was rebuilt 2 years ago. We have no manule to go by. Just need to know what we need to look for before we take apart. I am a GM master technician, just trying to help him out. Can some one help with diagnosis? Thank You HAL
