You diode trio could be defective.
"B" goes to batt. or ammeter
"R2" also goes to batt or ammeter. Some people just loop it over to the "B" terminal on alt.
"R1" goes to indiacator lamp and then to the ign. sw so it turns off with the ign.
That is the way mine is wired.
If you have deisel or magneto it can be done other ways.
I am no fan of one wire alt.because it takes lots of RPMs to get them to kick in and charge.
