I live in the interior of British Columbia. Problem that we are up against is breaking soil that has not been worked in decades. Keep in mind that this soil is known to have rocks. Problem we are having is the amount of time required to till up hard ground. We want to be able to shread the sod better than a tiller is capable of doing. Reason for this is to slow down the growth of these sod patches as much as possible to allow seed such as buckwheat, fall rye, etc a fighting chance. Any ideas??? We are using a 35 horse diesel with a 5 foot tiller. It takes appx. 3 hours per acre with this setup.
