Thanks to all who offered tips and advice. I found the problem. After checking and re-checking the alignment of the timing marks, with a suggestion from my dad, I found I had assumed that the rotation of the rotor was to the right when it was actually to the left. Would you believe it,.... all that extra work and I had two plug wires crossed. Boy do I feel foolish! It was not a total waste though, it was a lesson well learned. I will ALWAYS start with the simple things first! Thanks again, Dave Powers
