I had one load of flammables going West thru Denver... Was told I would get an "OK" to pass thru the tunnel...(WRONG)..!! Had to go "up the side-road" over the top....with NO Jake..!!! That was in late June and there was still snow in the ditches and NO Guardrails up there..!! Dropped in about 3rd Low back to the tunnel and Never could get off the brakes long enough for the trailer brakes to release..!! Never got any brake smoke, but was grossing 80,000 and it was starting to get too dark to see any if they did..!! A whole lot more Mountain than "El Cahon" in Calif..!! At least, by that time we had Power Steering...!! Ain't Truckin Great...!!!!
