Property managers are hated almost as much as the scum that doesn't pay their bills.
Your son has to decide if he wants to pass off the job to them & just cash his (now smaller) checks, or if he wants to be involved in running the property & do the work himself and take the risk of cashing (all for himself) the checks.
Can't have it both ways.
Property managers are pretty cut throat groups. That's what they are hired for, but they tend to protect themselves first, and they ain't gonna share any of their business with your son! That could be giving away secrets. If they give away secrets they lose control, and most have quite a bit of control - and buddy buddy setups with bigwigs in the community. Your son hired them, so he went that route, now he just sits back & cashes the checks, he has nothing more to do with it. Shut up & stay out of the way, he hired the big guns they have control.
