I remember going to the fests and having "a schwenk and a bit" on more than one occasion. Do they still have the borderfest? If I recall, it was in Bitburg one year, and the following year in Luxemburg (I think it was/been a few years since I was at the fest). Great time, great food, and great beer.
The Pigfest in Whittlich also is a good time.
I'll be retired from the AF in about ten months. I wonder if they are hiring civilians over there? Could stand some of the German beer, wine and food. (Wonder what my wife would say if I was to go back overseas...it's only been four months since I got back from So. Korea)
