Salary is always negotiable? I don't think so. A lot of jobs have the salary listed from the start. Depending on the job, there is nothing wrong with asking about the salary or benefits. Someone might be looking for something better than they have or applying at more than one job. I agree that it's better to pay a little more for a better employee and that the interview is also a way for the applicant to find out if they want to work there in the first place. I prefer better working conditions and a little less pay than poor working conditions and a tirant for a boss. Dave
