Rarity vs Value

Ok, having read posts/thoughts of tractor collectors/restorers in the thread below, I'll assume from now on tractor collectors/restorers do them just for love/hobby/fun/enjoy working on old pieces/etc rather than to make money/profit. Ok, I won't insist on my thought anymore and will try to learn/talk somethings in this field and putting an end to my claim. ... When we people collect somethings we search the objects as rare as possible. But, the problem here is that if rarity level (degree?) increases (toward a single unique piece) of a tractor or a tractor part, its market value increases or decreases? My opinion; it decreases at certain limit because if only one piece is available, then sharing the feelings is not possible.
