i had to replace the steering box on my '93 last year, i understand weak boxes come standard on older dodges at no extra cost, lol, my pump moaned and groaned too, as well as foamed up, [ if it foams it has air in the system] check carefully for any leaks in the whole system where it can get the air, i let my truck sit about a week, then removed one of the lines, with the engine off, and the wheels in the air to make steering easier [possible?] turn the steering wheel slowly from side to side all the way, do not let the pump run low on fluid , that helped mine a lot, i dont hear it now,
