A late John Deere 60 will have many more features than a standard Farmall super M. I have a couple of John Deere 70's and a super M Farmall. First, if the John Deere has power steering it actually is power steering and not power assist. My JD 70's both have excellent power steering. My Farmall super M does not have power steering. You can put on an after market system although. Some JD 60's and 70's did not have Power steering although. My John Deeres 70's have a live PTO. My Farmall M does not. You have to get to a Super MTA to get LPTO. My John Deeres have a great hydraulic system whereas many super M's still have the belly pump which is not live. Really a Farmall 300, 350, 400 or 450 is more the style of a late good JD 60 as far as power options were concerned. A basic Farmall M is more like a JD A. True, the foot clutch can be more convienent at times and the seat on a Farmall holds your butt better. JD had better brakes than the early disk type of Farmall. Also TA's are expensive to repair on the Farmall. JD didn't run the steering shaft through the radiator like Farmall either. Good luck . . .

At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches. As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
