Ford M vs.N? What should I buy?

I recently began looking for a nice old used tractor to plow 5 acres of horse property. I came across a good old 9M tractor for sale in smooth working order with newer tires and a scraper. Is $2,000 too much to pay for this tractor? Would I be better off with an 8N? What are the main differences between the M & N models? What about a 2N?
