Redblood posted about flushing automatic transmissions.
Q) '02 Chevy 2WD w/5.3 V-8. 100,000 miles. I had the trans flushed several times in the past 7 years and would like to do it again. Called the dealer and asked about it. They wanted to include an additive, before and after the 'flush'.
When asked why, the response was, "it's recommended by GM for high mileage transmissions, It's to lubricate and soften the seals and re-rejuvenate the transmission".
The trans works great and there are no leaks.
