We charged 8 (12) volt batteries in series parallel for 24 volts. These were used in the M60 Tank. We were running cold starts at -50F. Had to pull the batteries at that temp after attempting to make a start and reinstall
another set of fully charged batteries. Then they had to be cold soaked. We did a Soviet vehicle and used the same batteries which were Sears Die Hard to make 3 starts at -65F. It was their preheat system. Ten minutes of preheat and both engines would start like summertime. Hal
