I used to charge for shop supplies as a separate item on invoice . Then I got to looking at it from customer's side a little more . Yes shop supplies are used , yes they cost money . Bigger jobs take more mics supplies , brake clean, carb clean , rags , bolts , nuts, wire connectors etc. I decided it looked better to figure that into my labor rate,,it is a cost of business. customers liked it ,,I liked , no more Line item on invoice for "shop Supplies "
