The screw out nut you took off, was it an internal nut that threaded over the rod gland or an external nut that threaded into the barrel? If it was an internal one that pulls out on the rod gland then try knocking the gland into the cylinder an inch or so and there should be a 3 piece lock assembly you can remove and pull the rod and gland out. If it is an external thread one that threads into the barrel then it should just pull apart. Good luck, Don from Canada
