A guy brought a hydraulic cylinder into the shop and wants me to replace the seals. The tractor is Ford but the backhoe it's off of?? The one end is welded solid, other end has a screw out nut that holds the seals in. That is out. Next thing is the wiper seal looks like hard nylon or some type plastic. I have put about 8 ton (or close to that) pressure trying to pull the ram out and it's not coming at all. What are the chances there could be a snap ring down below the wiper seal? I was really hoping to get the wiper seal out in one piece but, it doesn't appear that way now.
