During starting when system voltage is low due to the starting motor dragging battery voltage down. And the increased voltage losses due to IXR. The coil needs every bit of help it can get to make a strong spark. I can't see how it's huge expenditure of time, effort and brain power. To ensure two scrawny little wires are connected to the proper terminals. A tractor has to be "restored to Expo" quality to make certain the wiring is a mess?
