Last year my american made, Schrade pocket knife broke at the locking mechanism also so i remember that someone told me they had a liftime guarantee. I did some reserch and found they don't make american blades any more. I sent them my broke one and asked if they could maybe fix it rather then send me a China one, well i guess its to much to fix so they just sent me a new China one plus a new shealth and my old knife back. I guess a free China made knife is better then paying for a China made one.
