I got my notice from the fuel company today that after Jan 1, 2001 we can't buy off road type diesel fuel anymore. The state notice says that all older tractors will be retired by Jan 1, 2004. This is for the 8 county region around Houston, Texas. The rules are for any diesel engines that are 40 years old by Jan 1, 2002, or for any diesel engines of any age that do not conform to the EPA guidelines for tail pipe sniffer test. Is there any other region of the country where you folks are facing early retiremnt for your equipment???
