Manual start button vs solonoid start system - which one is best?

I'm rewiring an old tractor here (6 volt, positive ground) and I am wondering if I should use the big, heavy manual start button which sends current to the starter directly, or should I wire in a 3-terminal remote solonoid with a small push button switch to make the connection from the battery to the starter (because it's certainly easier to operate). Anybody know which system is the best and why it is better? Thanks, Mike.
