i use symantec endpoint protection, it's the corprate version of norton(well symantec owns norton), the great thing about it you don't have to pay a fee every month or year like some anti-viruses. i never have a problem with it slowing my computer down. if anti-virus programs are slowing you computer down a lot i would shuggesst buying some more ramm (at least 1 gig) and having windows reinstalled.
if all your doing is surffing the internet at e-mail, you could try avg free, you can download it from there website, (note it is not he greatest and has a lot of weak points).
