I don't think I've heard of anybody using vetch for hay. I think Penn State was experimenting with hairy vetch and zone-tilled corn for silage back in the early '90s, but haven't heard anything about the results. I wonder if a sicklebar and a crusher would be able to get through a stand of vetch. From what I've seen, looks like discbine territory.
