Just so you know, small & large farmers are facing the same thing. A year ago fertilizer was $350-400 a ton. This summer it was $600 a ton. This fall it was $900-1000 a ton.
Many farmers are waiting, as fertilizer prices are starting to fall a bit on world markets. Unfortunately it can take 6 months to order & get it here from the world market, so many dealers have it all locked in at the super high prices, hard for them to lower it any _now_.
It will be an interesting spring to see how this all sorts itself out. If too many of us waited for spring, might not be enough fert around to get it all done.
