When A-C was pioneering rubber tires with Firestone and other companies, they tuned up a bunch of Allis "U" tractors and they used to regularly hit 65 mph. 1934 or so. As far as stock tractors go, it was very rare that any went over 25 mph. I had a Massey 85 that would do 27 and it was scary. Then there was my buddy who rebuilt his Dad's Nuffield and "forgot" the governor and turned up the pump a bit. he got a speeding ticket doing 40 in a 25 zone. Everybody on this page likely has a story of the local bozo that had a real speeder. Tom
