I have a 1954 8n with a front distributor that will not throttle up or down. I don�t have a lot engine experience and zero 8n tractor experience so forgive me if I sound stupid.
First some background. The tractor conveyed with the property and supposedly ran well the last time it was used 5+ years ago. It has had a 12V conversion on it. I tried to fire it up and it wouldn�t start. Not surprising. I determined that there was no spark and replaced the point, condenser, rotor and distributor cap. I�m a novice but I think I got the points gap properly. I put the tank back and it fired up immediately. It runs pretty smooth and quite at idle especially since the muffler is shot. But here is the problem I move the throttle and it moves the rods but nothing happens. The tractor will not throttle up or down just stays at nice idle. I plan on purchasing the shop manual but could really use some diagnostic help since I probably over my head already. Thanks in advance.
