Is this with bucket loaded or empty? Does the pedal work back/forth or is it locked? If it works does it pull the engine down like its trying to work? Course a blown hose would keep it from working 1 direction but that would be a major leak.
Mysterious missing oil (barring any obvious leaks) can often be found by removing the front plug to check the level of chaincase oil. Oftentimes you find them overfull which indicates a leaking drive motor carrier seal, no way to know which one it is so have to do both unless you take a stab at it and get lucky.
