My stocking rate is 1 steer on 1 1/2 acres soon to be 2 on 1 1/2 acres. Yeah I know spring is the best time to grow grass. I had a great stand...actually still does. No he didn't even begin to eat it down. The one I have now is around 1,000 to 1,200lbs. He'll be leaving in a month. Just got 2 more, they are 450lbs. each. No they won't eat the pasture down either. I have hay available for them, feed grain, I chop the sweet corn down and give it to them, give them apples and pears. Weeds still grow...from the time of Adam. Just thought I might be able to get rid of them for longer then a few months.
