My daughers car quit on her about a mile from home, it is a 2001 Dodge Stratus (114K miles)with a 2.4L four cylinder, have fire at the plugs and fuel at the fuel rail. I can"t hear the fuel pump when whe turns on the key, but the pressure keeps coming back to the rail. However, when I checked the engine oil it was not on the dipstick, had to add 4 quarts, She says the oil light was not lit, and the check engine light is not on. Could there be some kind of safety interlock with oil level or pressure? Any suggestions?
