NAPA has the best assortment of wheel hub studs. If there was one ever used by the factory, they should have it in their catalog if not their drawers.
McMaster-Carr (as well as Hockel Supply in Ames, IA) (www.mcmaster.com) has threaded rod in grades 2, 5, and 8 as well as brass and fiberglass. The common threaded rod is often almost up to grade 2 strength.
You can keep things from working loose with some loctite in the threads. Some grades will come apart if you insist, some may not.
