I was looking online at what steel is supposedly worth a ton. I know it would depend on what kind you are talking about (sheet metal vs #1 grade vs cast iron etc). There seems to be a big variance in the price. One site was saying Steel was worth $380/ ton and another was saying $550/ ton. I called a local recycler the other day and they are saying #1 is worth about $180/ ton and cast about $200/ ton. Actually they are using prices by the hundred weight but, this is about what they work out to. I know the re cycler needs to make a profit but, why so much discrepancy?
