12V alternator, Idiot Light

I want to rewire my 12V tractor with alternator so that I have a idiot light on the dash. Ford 601. I want to reclaim hole for fuel gauge where an ammeter is now. My question is; the alternator has main terminal where voltage is taken out. There also is (2) spade terminals which has a plastic plug and I have no idea where these wires go within the harness.
