Aamco is totaly wrong. They need to redo the seal. Check and see if your state has a Bureau of Automotive repair. If you do, turn it in to them. Years ago I had the wife's Mustang GT at the dealer for a recall on the emergency brake. Told them to look at the malfunctioning speedmeter when it was there. They told me it needed a new sending unit and charged $60.00 to diagnos it. They wanted $300.00 to fix it. Since I knew that wasn't the issue I declined the repair. I pulled the whole cluster and took it to a speedo shop. Cost a $100.00 to repair it. Worked fine for the next 7 years until we sold it. So I told the dealer I wanted a refund. They declined and told me never to come back again. I turned them into the state and they got fined and had to refund my $60.00. They also now have that issue listed on the state repair site.
