MN Scott, My 04 Duramax gets 20 mpg. day in day out around town [although it takes about 10 miles to get there]. I had the computer reprogramed at 50,000 miles and it went from the high 16's to 20. No chips or programes just re-programed. Checked with the dealer and this change doesn't affect the warrenty. BTW, and I only did this once, the truck now doesn't cut out at 95 mph. I've been told on GM's you can bypass this anyway by putting on your 4-way flashers. I'm going to visit relatives just north of New Orleans next week. I'm planning on pulling a empty trailer down and bringing back a hy-crop JD back. I'll be back at the end of the month and will give everyone a up date on the milage. The round trip will be around 2200 miles. For Allen in NE, my brother-in-law recently bought a 08 double-cab 350 ford and his milage is similar to yours. He says its way more snappy than his 01 was.
