I have included two more photographs; The first is of the B engine and the second of the A. Both drives are mounted on the right of the engine and they appear to be approximately the same. Obviulsy the A has the water pump installed so it looks a bit different.
I am still not sure if they are compatible. Would it be usual for the gears to be diffent even though the drive appears to be the same size?
also, what is the vertial "pipe" that is above of and connected to the drive in the B photograph.
