I haven't looked into any of my parts books, nor have I gone out to look at any of my engines. I have several IXAs in older Cletrac HGs. I also have several IXB3s in newer Cletrac HGs and OC3s. I also have a couple of brand-new, old-stock IXB5 power-units. They all differ a bit.
The IXAs that I'm familiar with have external mag drives via a fiber-coupling.
The IXB3s that I'm familiar with have an internal mag coupling built into the drive gear and the mag bolts directly to the engine. Also, as I recall, on the opposite engine-side.
The new IXB5s that I have here, have multiple mounings for mags as well as for a battery-distributor.
