What are you using it for? If you are on sod then bare weight is fine. If you are going to be plowing/disking then yes. Start with putting some weight on that front end. I have almost lost a thumb a few times with the steering wheel kicking when hitting a rut or furrow. 40 HP on a little tractor like that needs weight to use it. I'd try to find some cast iron first, but that is all personal choice. Mike
