Most won't touch it for less than 80/20 out here it cost to much to cut rake and bale. Big round bales go went for $30 last year for Straw that is grass hay after they take the seed out. Of course all you do is rake and bale on those. My neighbor sells 35 lbs square bales for $2.50 and can't get enough of them. Wasn't that long ago they went for $1.00 in the field. Gas and all Hay is going to get expensive this year. My neighbor and I were talking this morning and crunching the numbers it will cost us about $40 a ton to cut rake and bale a ton of square bales, then you have to add in the cost of hauling if you don't sell it in the field.
