When you loose the painfree useage of you knees as I have, you stumble around like a drunk. Since this problem has much worsened for me in the last few years, I recently retired at 62. My upper body strength is nearly what it was when I was 30, I work out faithfully with a weight machine and dumbells. I'd rather be a strong half a man than a total weakling. I can curl a 50# dumbell 50 consecutive reps with either arm, and at the same time my knees and legs will barely get me up/down a flight of steps. Strong/weak all in one package. I gotta keep a little stamina though, my wife is not much older than my son. LOL
