KATS Heater?

I am installing a KATS Tank keater on my John Deere 2840 but do not have the installation directions. My question is should the hot water flow be towards the thermostat or away from it. I"m think that it should be towards so that when the T-stat opens hot water will flow through the block. But, was also concerned that the hot water is on the top of the t-stat not against the spring that opens the t-stat.
