The low coolant sensor is located in the over-flow reservoir. Probably just need to add some coolant.

As a guideline on the price, my 2001 K-3500 standard cab with 8.1 and 6 spd. listed for $29,000 brand new. The Duramax and Allison would have added about $5,000 to the sticker price for a total of $34,000. Don't know what the extended cab option added, but with 123,000 miles on the truck you are looking at, I think $22,000 is a bit high.
