I have a 2002 6.6 diesel and I love it. I burn 20% (B20) biodiesel when the price it right and I love it. Engine runs good and quiet. Change the fuel filter after burning a full tank though. The bio will clean out the fuel system and it can clog the filter.
At about 75,000 miles or so keep an eye out for leaking injectors. chevy has had a problem with the injectors leaking diesel into the crankcase. If you smell diesel, pull the dipstick and check the level and smell. Chevy has extended the warranty to 200,000 miles on the injectors on the 02's & 03's and will replace them ALL with updated injectors.
