OT-internet redirects?

I am having a lot of problems when I do a google, or other site search. When I click on the a link that I want to go to, it keeps going to other site, sometimes 3-4 times, it wont let me use the "back" butten to go back to google, i have to go go to history and click, then if I click on the link I MAY actually get to the correct site. My laptop also is VERY slow sometimes getting to a site and opening it. I have run my Norton scan a few times recently and it says it fin nothing. Any one have a clue, it just started doing this the last month or so, I am sick of it, plus I dont feel safe going to any of my bank web sites now. I am worried I may have an undetected spyware or something that some one could see my info and steel my millions. Also get a lot of redirects to some pretty sick websites, none that we would ever want to see, BIL did use the laptop while he was farm sitting for me a while back, so maybe he went some where that gave me something. Any ideas or advice. Sorry so long
