Sorry about that but you're wrong...shrimp is flash frozen and in the stores withing weeks. No seafood will keep for the length of time you say. If the shrimp is peeled and deveined before freezing, it will lose a bit of flavor and texture, otherwise you can't tell it from fresh. I'll repeat, if the shrimp is in a scampi or any other sauce, you'd have to be a major palate to tell the difference and 99.9% of the people are not. Cheaper off the boat...if your boat is just working for fuel from the fish houses, then you have to get into a different business. As I said, I'm in a shrimping area and the shrimpers aren't stupid, they charge just about what the store charges...unless I catch them out in the Gulf, then I can get a bunch of pounds for a six pack.
