Even if the engine will start in freezing weather. You are doing your truck and your pocket book a favour by plugging in the block heater no matter if it's gas or diesel.
The engine burns less fuel, suffers less wear and the windshield clears immediatley.
And starting an engine and letting it idle to "warm up" is the dumbest thing since peeing into the wind.If electricity is avaliable to plug in.
