ford 6.0 powerstroke block heater?

I was just reading a post a few days ago about diesels starting up in cold weather...my dad has a 03' ford powerstorke 6.0 and couldent find the block heater anywhere..even in the manual..just wondering if anyone knew where it was...also if its cold(20 and below) when you sart her up(after the glow pulg sign goes off to show that they are heated up) she sputeeres and missses the first couple of seconds..is this normal or are the glow plugs bad...its got stright pipe,cold air intake and a superchip..but when she warms up no truck can get in her way..shes pretty bad!!
