We will see all sorts of ideas & preposals. We will end up with about what we have now. Will be fun to watch the fur fly in between. :) Remember, that new preposal also has a 200,000 total income limit on payments (farm & non-farm income). For real farms, with feast & famine price cycles where you lose money for 5 years, then hit it big with luck & good planning, only to lose money again for 3-4 years. Many times the govt payment is bigger than the actual farm income. These days the govt needs to have control of farmers - the payments are pretty much to buy compliance with various environmental programs, know how many acres of what are going to be produced, and so forth. The govt could not allow farms to go back to being on their own. The govt would get hurt worse than the farmers these days! --->Paul
