single bottom 3-pt plow

Everyone,

Just wondered what there is to know about
using a single bottom 3-pt plow. I am considering
buying one to do our garden plot. Until now we
have simply used a rototiller, but now I am interested in going a little bigger with the plot and applying manure or green fertilizers. I intend to use one of my two Ford NAA tractors to do the work. I noticed a single bottom plow for a class I hitch is available from TSC for 470.00. Do you think this would give me enough years of use in a small garden plot application?
Since I do not have a disc, I plan to break up the
plowed area with the lowered tines of my box blade (which has worked in other applications)
Then, go over it with my rear tine rototiller.
Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.
