When I was 14 I went to work for the neighbor, mostly changing irrigation pipes and haying. They had an Angus bull, and he spooked me the first time I changed pipes in his field- kept following me. Mentioned it to the boss, and he laughed and said, "oh, he just wants you to scratch his head with the end of the pipe. Do it a few times, and he'll wander off." Problem solved. But I do realize that you don't want to get them too tame, or they'll lose their fear of man, like my wife's Pomeranian has.
