Im about to buy two small JD's one with a 2cyl yanmar and the other with a 3cyl. according to the guy thats been maintaining these machines they both put fuel in the oil. he says its always a injection pump seal on those yanmars. My question is, is this true? is it common with yanmars? and how big a deal is it to reseal a pump? I remember working on some cat engines that had to have a specific tool for each different model engine to time the pump when reinstalling it...neither one of these engines have more than 1400 hrs on them and I dont think he even checked for any other possibilties...do yanmars run fuel thru the heads or have anything like jumper lines like a detroit? or is the fuel system isolated other than where the drive goes into the case?
